Salem Ghost Tour/Privacy

Privacy

Salem, Massachusettswhat is measured, and what is not

This site has no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. There is nothing here to type your name into, so nothing about you is collected except what any web page sees when a browser asks for it, plus two tools that count visits. This page says exactly what those are.

What counts the visits

Two tools measure traffic. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without fingerprinting your device: it sees a page, a referrer and a rough country, and nothing that identifies you.

Google Analytics 4 does use cookies. It records the pages you open, roughly where you are (country and region, from your IP address, which Google discards), and which site sent you here. That data goes to Google and is governed by their policy as well as this page. Google’s advertising features are switched off for this site: no Google Signals, no advertising account linked to it, so nothing here feeds ad targeting.

The booking box

Every tour page carries GetYourGuide’s availability widget. It loads from their servers, it can set its own cookies, and anything you do inside it — dates, names, payment — happens on their side under their privacy policy, never ours. We never see a booking, a card or an email address.

Our partner ID travels with the click so GetYourGuide knows the referral came from here and pays the commission. That is the whole of the arrangement, and the affiliate disclosure explains what it does and does not buy.

Hosting logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, browser, the file requested — to serve the page and to stop attacks. That is ordinary hosting, not a profile of you, and we do not read those logs looking for people.

What never happens

We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to sell: no list, no profiles, no advertising on this site. We run no ad network, no retargeting pixel and no social tracker. Nothing you do here is passed to a tour operator.

If you write to us, your email is used to answer you and for nothing else.

Your choices

Your browser can block or clear cookies, and blocking them costs you nothing here — every page works without them. Google publishes an opt-out add-on that switches Analytics off across every site that uses it. A Global Privacy Control signal is respected, though it changes little: we have nothing to stop selling.

Questions, or a request to remove something: [email protected].
