You sit at a shared bench with a bundle of broomcorn, a handle and a spool of cord. The host talks while you work: why a besom is bound the way it is, why the broom became the witch's tool in the popular mind, and what Salem's own history has to do with it. Nobody is on their feet for long, and nobody is left behind; the pace is set by the slowest pair of hands in the room.

Broomcorn is wetted, gathered round the handle and bound tight with cord. The host talks through why the besom looks the way it does.

Stitch
The bundle is flattened and stitched so it keeps its shape. This is the slow part and the part people photograph.

Trim
Shears out, the bottom is cut clean and the broom is yours. Wrapping for travel is shown at the end.
Slots run several times a day, including the hour before the evening walks start, which is how most people fit it in: a broom at five, a walk at seven. Check the dates below, then book the walk after.
What you take home
The broom you made, bound and trimmed and yours. It fits under an arm on the train and in an overhead bin; the host will show you how to wrap it. There is no shop upsell at the end and nothing else to buy.
If you would rather not carry it, the alternative for the same hour is the costume photoshoot, which sends you home with files instead of a broom.

How long, and who it's not for
It runs about 1.5 hours and you are seated most of it, so mobility is not the problem. The problem is expectation: this is a craft hour with a good talker, not a tour of the town, and people who arrive wanting the streets leave saying it was short. If the streets are what you want, the 1692 Witchcraft Trials Walk covers them in daylight for less, and you can still do this afterward.
Small children can join with an adult on the same broom; teenagers do it alone. Sharp shears are on the bench, so the host asks for a hand on every young pair. Age limits are set by the listing, not by us.
